In 1969, the first series of proofs were made of the Song of Songs, 15 etchings marked as A.P. Ten years later, Ya'akov Boussidan has revised the design of the book - one plate has been changed, the others revised, and the Hebrew text has been handscripted. Boussidan stood by the English translation from the King James I Authoreised version of 1611, as still the most elegant and appropriate rendering of the original.
The text has been printed on Velin Arch Blanc paper, and the etchings on B.T.K Rives paper. An edition of 30 has been made of solely the etchings, without text, marked in Arabic numbers. The present and final edition is XXVII marked in Roman numbers, a further 8 are marked as A.P.and 3 remaining as state proofs.
The etchings have been printed in the Artist's studio in London.
